Everyone is a kid during the last weekend of the Puyallup Fair. Adults can pay kids admission prices Saturday Sept. 24 and Sunday Sept. 25. While at the Fair this weekend stop by Barn J to see exotic animals from all corners of the world, which have made their way to the Puyallup Fair for the Animals of the World exhibit starting today! Take this opportunity to see and learn about animals you may have never seen or heard about before. This year features: Watusi cattle, fainting goats, Nigerian dwarf goats, camels, zebras, and many more. New to the exhibit this year are hedgehogs!
There are 17 different species of hedgehogs found in different parts of Europe, Asia, Africa, and New Zealand. They use their quills to protect themselves from predators, using their two back muscles to pull the quills over uncovered body parts, such as their head, feet and belly. Hedgehogs are known as pest control being that they can eat up to 200 grams of insects a night!
